Key Learnings
The Seven Cornerstones of Teamwork can be used to significantly leverage any department's time and help multiply results. The Cornerstones can be applied every time a team meets. They are used to express concerns and they become the platform for shared victories. Since The Seven Cornerstones of Teamwork use principle-based evaluation, they make it possible for everyone to participate in non-threatening, honest discussion. They help any team identify areas of strength and define areas in need of improvement.
Format
The format of the course is one full day. The day begins as the participants embark upon the exploration of what teams are really about and the role they play within the team. It also provides a template and model of a high performing team. Participants are challenged to be aware of their own history and the "baggage" they bring to the team and impact it has on successful performance.
The day includes a number of experiential simulations that lay foundations for learning models which enhance understanding and awareness of team. The groups is provided with a tool that empowers each of them to move forward as a high performing team. This tool becomes a template for evaluation, assessment and feedback that is used through the rest of the day.
The afternoon is an opportunity for the group to enter into a team exercise where they can practice team principles using The Seven Cornerstones of Teamwork. They experience first hand the value of the Cornerstones as their group overcomes the obstacles and improves their efficiency within a relatively short period of time.
The debrief to the exercise relates the learning directly back to the organization and its specific issues and applications.
